I was invited to create an altarpiece for a church.

I decided to emulate painting as meditation which I had experienced when Italian artist Orlando Tisato held an open-air event to paint a piece for a Catholic school chapel as part of the 2000 Adelaide Festival.

My painting, Transcendence, was undertaken at a Sunday morning worship service in the place of the sermon, accompanied by pre-recorded music.
