Video Creations

In creating these videos I have used copyright-free images from the Internet, photos used with permission from their owners, or from my own photo library.
Generally, the images dialogue with a piece of commercially available music. Because of the difficulty in obtaining copyright from music companies, these video creations may not be used for commercial purposes.

Vine and Fig Tree (Dark Side)

An anti-war video showcasing the powerful imagery of Ugurgallen,
the voices of ‘Tiny Home’ and the text of Micah 4.4.

WARNING: confronting and graphic images.

About:

The original  Vine and Fig Tree video (above) was created as a meditation to be shown as part of ‘Prayers for Others’ during worship at a Uniting Church congregation in Melbourne on Sunday, March 23, 2025.

While reminding us of the horror and obscenity of war, the double imagery employed by the photographer in the video asks questions of us, we who live as relatively comfortable beneficiaries of hegemonic western power. The repetitive singing voices the insistence of the ancient prophet, goading us toward working toward a just and harmonious humanity, built on a productivity arising from the gifts of creation, rather than a destruction arising from the worst we think we can do to each other.

YouTube will not allow the video on its platform on the basis of its graphic imagery.

Respecting the sensitivities of the diverse local congregation who will view the video, it was decided to edit out some of the more confronting images and create a ‘lighter’ version (below).
